The 2026 Dougal Thornton Calendar is here! Most residents and visitors of the VI certainly know the name Dougal Thornton. Aside from being many things: graphic designer, chef, rugby enthusiast, to name a few, Dougal was in the top ranks of a handful of prolific photographers who captured the astonishing beauty, culture, and people of the Territory. He became famous for his Virgin Islands calendar that he produced for 32 years that showcased his iconic images of the islands.
Though Dougal passed away in 2020, his legacy lives on through his sons. They knew the best way to honour their father would be to continue to produce his calendar. Each year since, they have enhanced the calendar by putting a call out to other local photographers, choosing the images carefully, the results of which can be enjoyed and collected for a beautiful retrospective our our islands and the activities that we enjoy so much here.
